Overview

This MagCAD top bearing cover allows you to mount the Roval Rapide or Roval Terra integrated cockpit to your Specialized Tarmac SL6 road bike or Crux (2021-2025) cyclocross/gravel bike and minimise the headset stack height for a "slammed" setup.

This remodelled headset top bearing cover links the integrated design of the Roval Rapide / Terra cockpit to the more rounded shape of the Tarmac SL6 / Crux, improving aesthetics and allowing the use of an integrated computer mount out front for a super clean setup.

The Specialized Tarmac SL6 road bikes and Crux (2021-2025) cyclocross/gravel bikes have external cables, as standard. Therefore this top bearing cover does not have any provision for internal cable routing.

Please note, this headset kit is only compatible with the Gen 4 Specialized Crux (2021-2025). It is not compatible with the Specialized Crux 5 (2026-).

Application

All MagCAD headset parts are 3D printed in a durable Nylon to ensure they are robust to many years of use. As with any steering related components they should be installed by a competent mechanic and inspected regularly. Incorrect assembly or mis-use may result in damage to the headset components and/or injury.

This MagCAD Top Bearing Cover has a height of 6.2mm. With the Roval Rapide cockpit having a clamp height of 40.8mm this makes for a total stack height of 47mm. Allowing for the 3mm steerer tube cut specified by Specialized you will therefore require a minimum 44mm of fork steerer, measured from the top bearing split compression ring to the top of the steerer.
