Overview
This MagCAD top bearing cover allows you to mount the Specialized Tarmac SL7 stem to your compatible Specialized Allez Sprint (2022-2025) road bike and minimise the headset stack height for a "slammed" setup.
By replacing the entire top bearing cover and reducing the headset stack height this component is particularly useful for those who have short fork steerers or wanting a more race orientated low riding position.
The Tarmac SL7 stem has been continued with the launch of the Tarmac SL8 and supports semi-integrated cable routing and direct computer mounts. This MagCAD Top Bearing Cover improves the aesthetics and integration between cockpit and frame when fitting the Tarmac SL7 stem (not supplied) and Tarmac SL7 stem cover (not supplied) to your Allez Sprint.
Electronic internal cable routing is supported in exactly the same way as the existing Specialized Tarmac SL7 setup.
Please note: This MagCAD Top Bearing Cover is only compatible with electronic shifting and does not support the additional cables for mechanical shifting.
The headset spacer is designed for the Tarmac SL7 stem cover, not supplied, with some improvements over the OEM Specialized assembly to improve the fit and security of the cap. This MagCAD spacer is also compatible with both -6deg and -12deg Tarmac SL7 stems.
Application
All MagCAD headset parts are 3D printed in a durable Nylon to ensure they are robust to many years of use. As with any steering related components they should be installed by a competent mechanic and inspected regularly. Incorrect assembly or mis-use may result in damage to the headset components and/or injury.
Particular care should be taken to ensure the internal cable routing is installed correctly and checked periodically.
This MagCAD Top Bearing Cover has a stack height of 13.2mm. With the Specialized Tarmac SL7 stem (not supplied) having a clamp height of 31mm the minimum assembly stack height is 44.2mm. Allowing for the 3mm steerer tube cut specified by Specialized you will therefore require a minimum 41.2mm of fork steerer, measured from the top bearing split compression ring to the top of the steerer.
Compatible With:
- Specialized Tarmac SL7/SL8 alloy stem.
- Specialized Allez Sprint (2022-2025) road bike.
